PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) provides high quality electrical products throughout the world. The new building serves as their headquarters for their United States operations.

ADDITIONAL PROJECT FACTS:

  • Exposed entrance structure canopy and stair at front of building.
  • Warehouse area designed for future expansion, overhead cranes in each bay and numerous jib cranes.
  • Steel-framed building structure allowed for open-floor plans with office area.

A new 37,000 square-foot, two-story, steel-framed office building and 14,000 square-foot, one-story load bearing wall, warehouse structure. The project incorporated composite steel floor structure and steel joist and girder roof structure supported by steel moment frames for the office areas and reinforced exterior masonry bearing and shear walls at the warehouse area. The foundations utilized shallow concrete spread and column footings. Warehouse area was designed for future expansion, overhead crane and numerous jib cranes. Entrance canopy and vestibule utilized exposed structural steel.
